• McFoamyXL

Like its little brother, the McFoamy XL is loved by anyone that flies it. With a full-length spar and increased size, many say it flies more like a balsa plane than a foamy. But with the "bounceability" of EPP foam, your crashes result in little to no damage and can be repaired in just minutes .

Flight Attributes:

  • Hovering ease
  • Smooth flight
  • 3D capability

Maidened my XL McFoamy two days ago and I can't stop flying it, what a pleasure to fly. Purchased to practice precision aerobatics more than 3D but I can see me flying a freestyle routine with a mix of the two. This plane can do both and it's inexpensive if you have a Ops.

Just want to say how much I love flying my Mcfoamy now 1+ yr since I got her. Been through the learning curve and survived and looks good as new. This is my #1 go to plane when I want to practice some 3D in the cul-de-sac. BTW, the prop savers that Greg sells are awesome!

I have 4 of the West Michigan foam planes and just ordered another McFoamy XL. It is currently my favorite plane of the 12 planes I currently own and it always is one I take to the field. It hand launches by just pointing it up 30 degrees, giving it half throttle and letting go. It trimmed with just a few clicks of up elevator and the CG was right on with the recommended position. It makes learning to hover and knife edge easy. I used the 2212/13 motor with an 18 amp ESC and there is plenty of power. The NanoTech 3 cell 950 mamp battery weighs the same as most 800 mamp batteries and gives around 7 minutes of flight time. I strongly recommend this plane to anyone that wants to start learning 3D. Rick
